According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, White has inked a deal with the Buffalo Bills, joining their practice squad. This move marks his third team in the AFC East over the last three seasons.
Last season, White joined the Dolphins as a backup for Tua Tagovailoa after a solid run with the New York Jets in 2022. Unfortunately, he recently lost the backup spot in Miami to Skylar Thompson, a former seventh-round pick from the 2022 NFL Draft.

White was originally drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the fifth round of 2018. After a short stint as their third-string quarterback, he found himself waived in 2019. Following that, he joined the Jets’ practice squad, where he quickly became a fan favorite, especially after stepping in for Zach Wilson in 2021. White led the Jets to a 34-31 victory over the Bengals, which was a defining moment in his career.
Throughout his time in the NFL, White has played in 14 games, starting seven, and holds a record of 2-5. He finished with a completion rate of 62.6%, amassing 9 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.
Before his NFL journey, White starred at South Florida and Western Kentucky, accumulating impressive college stats that led to accolades, including C-USA Newcomer of the Year.
The Bills already have a star quarterback in Josh Allen, supported by former No. 2 overall pick Mitchell Trubisky. Their third-string option, Shane Buechele, is on injured reserve with a neck injury sustained earlier this preseason, paving the way for White to potentially move up the depth chart this season.
