Cowboys Propose Deal That Could Make CeeDee Lamb One of NFL’s Top-Earning Wide Receivers

Dallas Cowboys’ standout receiver CeeDee Lamb is currently in a contract standoff as preseason draws to a close. Lamb has chosen to skip training camp while negotiating for a new deal, and progress has been slow between him and the team.

This offseason, Minnesota Vikings star Justin Jefferson set a new standard in the league with a four-year, $140 million contract, becoming the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history. Lamb’s demands remain uncertain, but it’s evident that the Cowboys haven’t met them yet.

According to ESPN, the Cowboys have presented Lamb with an offer that would rank him as the second-highest-paid receiver, just behind Jefferson. This aligns with a report from Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News, suggesting the offer is “slightly under $33 million per season.”

Lamb’s hesitation to accept the proposal implies he’s likely seeking a bigger payday. Despite the ongoing negotiations, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones expressed confidence in reaching an agreement during a press conference on Tuesday.

“I think we can come together, although that might sound unconvincing,” Jones remarked. “We value what he brings to the team, which is why we made our offer.”

“He’s going to be a key player for us—he better be considering the money,” Jones stated, emphasizing Lamb needs to be targeted frequently to maximize his impact on the field.
