The Dallas Cowboys are set to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers at 9:45 p.m. ET after a rain and lightning weather delay pushed back kickoff for this Sunday Night Football matchup. Fans were asked to seek shelter as both teams retreated to their locker rooms due to the severe conditions.
With a record of 2-2, the Cowboys are eager to get above .500, but they’ll be facing some challenges. Star wide receiver Brandin Cooks has been placed on injured reserve with a knee infection, sidelining him for the next four games. Additionally, standout defensive player Micah Parsons will also miss this game due to injury.
This means added pressure on Dak Prescott to lead the team effectively. However, he remains focused and insists he won’t change his game approach. “I don’t break the huddle thinking I need to be Superman,” Prescott said earlier this week. “I’ll continue to use my feet and make the throws; I’m confident in my game plan.”
Prescott aims to elevate his teammates’ performance, saying, “If I’m at my best and everyone else follows suit, we’ll showcase our potential. I’m not worried about the outcome.”
He believes this game could be a turning point for him this season. Prescott currently holds a completion rate of 64.4%, with 1,072 passing yards, six touchdowns, and two interceptions under his belt.
“Looking back at the last four games, there are definitely a few plays I want back,” he acknowledged. “But I feel like I’m on the verge of my best performance. I’ve played solidly, but I can definitely improve. I’m always striving for better, even after a 500-yard game,” he added.
