Philadelphia Eagles receiver A.J. Brown is likely facing a couple of weeks on the sidelines due to a hamstring injury. In an update to ESPN’s Lisa Salters, he mentioned that he expects to be out for a bit, as reported by Adam Schefter.
Brown has already been ruled out for the upcoming Monday night game against the Atlanta Falcons, raising concerns about how long he might be sidelined.
The injury crept up after Brown felt some tightness on Friday. Prior to this, he had a standout performance in Week 1 against the Green Bay Packers, catching five passes for 119 yards and scoring a 67-yard touchdown.
As the Eagles’ top receiver, Brown has established himself as a key player since his trade from the Tennessee Titans in the 2022 NFL Draft. In his two seasons with the Eagles, he accumulated impressive stats—88 receptions for 1,496 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2022, followed by 106 receptions for 1,456 yards and seven touchdowns in 2023. Both years, he earned Pro Bowl and All-Pro honors.
If Brown ends up missing multiple weeks, DeVonta Smith will step up as the primary receiver. Smith shares a strong rapport with Brown, contributing to one of the league’s top receiving duos, and has impressive stats with back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons of his own.

Fantasy Football Outlook for AJ Brown’s Injury
With Brown out, DeVonta Smith and Dallas Goedert are expected to receive more targets. Additionally, fantasy owners may want to consider Jahan Dotson, who was recently acquired from the Washington Commanders.
Jalen Hurts’ fantasy value might dip slightly without Brown, but he could rely on his running ability more, which can still benefit fantasy owners.
Running back Saquon Barkley stands to benefit the most in terms of fantasy production during Brown’s absence. Expect increased touches for him, both in the rushing and passing game, as the Eagles adjust their strategy without their star wideout. While Barkley was already a solid starter, his value may rise further in Brown’s absence.
