The New York Jets are gearing up for the 2024 NFL season with high hopes for a turnaround after a challenging 2023. The season was cut short for starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers due to an Achilles injury just moments into the campaign.

This year, Rodgers is back, and he’s got some exciting weapons at his disposal, including former first-round draft pick Mike Williams, who joined the Jets after his release from the Los Angeles Chargers.
Williams is also coming off a significant injury, as he tore his ACL last season. However, Jets head coach Robert Salah confirmed that Williams is cleared and ready to play in the season opener.
His return is critical for the Jets, as he adds depth to an already impressive receiving corps that includes Garrett Wilson and Allen Lazard.
After practice, Williams expressed his readiness for the Week 1 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. “I feel good,” he shared. “I was putting the work in to be available this season, and it’s all coming together.”
Williams understands the excitement of playing alongside a Hall-of-Fame quarterback. He discussed the bright future of the Jets’ offense with him back in the mix, stating, “It’s going to be crazy. Aaron is firing on all cylinders, along with Garrett. We’re making big plays against our defense.”
As a downfield threat, the former Clemson star can really open things up for the Jets. Last season, despite playing only three games, he recorded 19 catches for 249 yards and one touchdown. In 2021, he had a standout season with 76 catches for 1,146 yards and nine touchdowns, showcasing his potential as a valuable addition for New York.
With Super Bowl aspirations this season, the Jets are counting on Williams to help steer them toward their goals.
