Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen sustained an injury to his non-throwing hand during the Bills’ exciting 34-28 victory over the Arizona Cardinals. Although his left hand and wrist were wrapped, Allen managed to finish the game without any interruption.
Post-game, Allen reassured fans, stating he was “fine.” He is set to undergo X-rays this week, as reported by Dom Tibbetts of WKBW. The Bills have a quick turnaround, facing the Miami Dolphins this Thursday on primetime.
Even with his hand injury, Allen was instrumental in leading his team to a comeback win. The Cardinals jumped out to an early 17-3 lead before Allen took charge. He rushed for a seven-yard touchdown right before halftime and initiated another touchdown drive to start the second half, throwing an 11-yard touchdown pass to Mack Hollins. He later added a touchdown pass to Khalil Shakir and another rushing score in the fourth quarter.
Critics often question his decision-making, but Allen silenced those doubts by completing 18 of 23 passes for 230 yards and two touchdowns. He also tallied nine rushing attempts for 39 yards and two additional scores, with only a fumble early in the game marring his performance.
Despite the hand injury and a revamped receiving lineup after Stefon Diggs’ offseason departure, Allen showed resilience in the season opener.

X-rays will likely clarify Allen’s availability for Week 2. He boasts one of the NFL’s longest active starting streaks, having started 98 consecutive games, including playoffs, and has not missed a game since his rookie campaign.
Standing at 6-foot-5, Allen is known for his toughness. Despite frequently taking hits, he has managed to stay on the field, even playing through a shoulder injury last season without missing a beat.
If he suits up on Thursday, Allen will lead the Bills against the Dolphins, a team they’ve beaten in their last four encounters.
