Good news for Seattle Seahawks fans! Running back Kenneth Walker III has officially made his return to the active roster and will play against the Detroit Lions on Monday Night Football, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Walker missed the last two games due to an oblique injury but is back in action after making a full recovery. His last appearance was in Week 1, where he impressively rushed 20 times for 103 yards and a touchdown in a victory over the Denver Broncos.
During Walker’s absence, Zach Charbonnet stepped up, but it was a mixed bag. He struggled against the Patriots, gaining only 38 yards on 14 carries, though he turned things around against the Dolphins with 91 yards and two touchdowns from 18 carries.
The Seahawks’ coaching staff is optimistic about Walker’s return, with head coach Mike Macdonald commenting, “He’s looked good. He’s ready to go.” Fans are eager to see the duo of Walker and Charbonnet together as they face a tough Lions squad.
Walker has been the team’s main back for the past two seasons, accumulating over 1,000 rushing yards last year. Charbonnet, drafted from UCLA, has mostly played a supporting role.
However, the Seahawks will be hampered defensively, as they will miss four key players: outside linebackers Boye Mafe and Uchenna Nwosu, defensive end Leonard Williams, and defensive tackle Byron Murphy, all out due to various injuries.
While the Seahawks aim to maintain their perfect 3-0 record, they’re up against a formidable Lions team—one of the strongest in the league. The Lions will also be feeling the pinch, missing center Frank Ragnow due to a pectoral injury, although tight end Sam LaPorta is set to play on Monday.
