Travis Kelce took full advantage of the Kansas City Chiefs’ bye week to enjoy a getaway in New York with his girlfriend, Taylor Swift. Their mini-vacation extended into Monday, where they caught Game 1 of the American League Championship Series between the Cleveland Guardians and New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium.
Being a Cleveland native, Kelce faced some teasing for not wearing any Cleveland gear that night. However, he surely had a reason to celebrate when the Guardians gained their first win in the series on Thursday with a dramatic 10-inning game, capped off by a home run from David Fry.

Kelce expressed his enthusiasm for the Guardians’ win in a Twitter/X post. He stated, “I’ve been a Cleveland sports fan my entire life… Make it back to countless games over the years for both the Guardians and Cavs, just to enjoy these memories with friends and family, WIN OR LOSE!!… and I don’t wear Cleveland gear one time 😂 and all of a sudden I’m not a real fan?! Ask anyone who was in that suite on game 1; they’ll tell you I was cheering for the @CleGuardians.”

The Yankees had previously knocked out the Kansas City Royals in the American League Division Series, setting up their face-off against the Guardians.

It doesn’t hurt that celebrity influences like Swift and Kelce are in the spotlight. MLB even shared their playful online exchange on its official Instagram account.
Swift, 34, and Kelce, 35, were previously spotted at the U.S. Open men’s singles final along with Mahomes and his wife, Brittany.
