The early frontrunner in the 2024 NFL season? Surprisingly, it’s the New Orleans Saints.
The Saints kicked things off with a commanding 47-10 victory over the Carolina Panthers in Week 1, cruising to a 30-3 halftime lead before wrapping up the game without issue. While the win was solid, it didn’t scream domination over the Panthers.
The real statement came in Week 2 when New Orleans outpaced the Dallas Cowboys, winning 44-19. The usually potent Cowboys offense, led by Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb, struggled to match the Saints’ speed and efficiency.
This performance was even more remarkable, considering the Saints had to send their players home early from practice due to Hurricane Francine’s impact in Louisiana.

Kamara ended the game with an impressive three rushing touchdowns, totaling 118 rushing yards on 20 carries, plus two catches for 65 yards and another touchdown.
In the receiving department, both Shaheed and Chris Olave averaged over 20 yards per catch, with Shaheed racking up four receptions for 96 yards and a touchdown, while Olave added four catches for 81 yards.
Quarterback Derek Carr completed 11 of 16 passes for 243 yards, tossed two touchdowns, and had one interception. After a challenging 2023 season, Carr has found a supporter in Kamara.
“I give him his flowers every day. He’s a great quarterback, and I’m glad he’s getting the chance to show it,” Kamara said post-game.
This revitalized offense is a result of Klint Kubiak’s influence as the Saints’ new offensive coordinator. Kubiak, son of former Super Bowl-winning coach Gary Kubiak, joined New Orleans after serving as the 49ers’ passing game coordinator last season.
Currently, the Saints stand out as the only team to score at least 40 points in both of their games this season, boasting an impressive average of 45.5 points so far.
Next up, they aim to extend their winning streak to three against a formidable Philadelphia Eagles team at Lincoln Financial Field next Sunday.
