This NFL season has dealt a tough hand to several teams, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are feeling the sting as two of their offensive players face serious injuries.

The two players in question are wide receiver Rakim Jarrett and running back Chase Edmonds, both expected to head to injured reserve for the season.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport broke the news first via social media.
Previously, if you landed on IR before the final cuts, it meant you were out for the entire season. This change adds depth strategy and flexibility for teams.
Consequently, expect Tampa Bay to officially place Jarrett and Edmonds on IR by Tuesday during roster cuts, with hopes of activating them later this season. Both are eager to contribute when healthy.
Jarrett made his way to Tampa as an undrafted free agent last May, earning a spot on the 53-man roster after impressing during the preseason. In the 2023 season, he managed to play in 10 games, recording four catches for 60 yards, adding to his college stats where he racked up 119 receptions and 10 touchdowns at Maryland.
Meanwhile, Edmonds, who hasn’t practiced since the start of training camp due to an undisclosed injury, is expected to miss about four games. In his absence, Rachaad White, Bucky Irving, and Sean Tucker will need to step up and carry the running back duties.
The 28-year-old Edmonds is on his fourth team, previously with the Arizona Cardinals, Denver Broncos, and Miami Dolphins. He brings with him 450 carries and nearly 2,000 rushing yards along with 11 touchdowns to the Buccaneers.
