Following his training camp hold-in, Tagovailoa’s extension has been supported by many Dolphins teammates, notably star wide receiver Tyreek Hill, who has been vocal about his desire to see the young quarterback rewarded for his performance.

Hill has praised Tagovailoa, describing him as the “most accurate” quarterback he’s played with. Despite being due for a contract of his own, Hill continues to stand by his teammate, expressing his joy at Tagovailoa’s new deal during a recent SiriusXM NFL Radio appearance.
“Hearing his story, all he’s overcome, and now seeing him sign this big deal is incredible. I felt like I signed it myself! Congrats to him and his family,” Hill shared, reflecting on the challenges Tagovailoa has faced, particularly during the Brian Flores era, when there were rumors about the team pursuing other quarterbacks.
In the face of scrutiny, Tagovailoa cemented his role as the Dolphins’ franchise quarterback by leading the league in passer rating (105.5) in 2022 and amassing 4,624 passing yards in 2023. His impressive performance has put him in a prime position to elevate the team in critical playoff scenarios.
