Robinson has been a dependable presence on the line in 2024, starting all seven games for the Jaguars while conceding just two penalties.

Per PFF, he’s allowed four sacks this season, placing him ninth in the NFL for that stat. While that might seem substantial, it’s indicative of Robinson’s caliber as a starter.

With 91 career starts under his belt and a franchise tag from the Jaguars earlier this year, it’s rare for a team to part ways with an offensive lineman of his quality.

With Darrisaw out for the season, the Vikings have made a strategic move by bringing in Robinson, who is expected to step in as the starting left tackle, replacing the likes of David Quessenberry, Walter Rouse, and Blake Brandel on the depth chart.

NFL insider Field Yates indicated that the Jaguars will likely cover part of Robinson’s $16 million salary for 2024.

Desperate to solidify their offensive line, especially after allowing three sacks in their recent loss to the Los Angeles Rams, the Vikings are making moves to ensure a deep playoff push. Protecting quarterback Sam Darnold is crucial, and Robinson’s addition greatly helps with that effort.

After tough losses to the Detroit Lions and the Rams in Weeks 7 and 8, the Vikings are eager to bounce back as they prepare to face the Indianapolis Colts in Week 9—a key matchup for momentum.

Following that, they’ll take on the Jaguars in Week 10, which may serve as a personal game for Robinson. As the season progresses, the Vikings will be looking to secure crucial wins to keep pace with the Lions at the top of the division.
