People Are Outraged at How This Guy’s Pizza Was Delivered

Ordering takeout should be a joy – hot, tasty food showing up right at your doorstep. But one unlucky customer’s experience turned into a nightmare when he shared how his pizza arrived, and the internet is not happy about it.

In a now-famous Reddit post, Daniel Djamal, 38, posted a photo of his disheveled hot-honey pepperoni pizza, ordered on June 14. The image depicted a messy heap of fallen slices, a far cry from the delicious treat he was expecting.

Upset, Djamal recounted, “I questioned the delivery guy about it, and he basically shrugged it off, advising me to sort it out with Pizza Hut. When I reached out to them, they simply blamed the driver.”

“I also tried contacting Uber Eats, who issued a refund but overlooked compensating for the delivery charges.”

Upon seeing the sad state of his meal, Djamal decided a refund was a better idea than trying to salvage the mess. The uneaten pizza went straight into the trash.

Originally, the picture was for Uber Eats and Pizza Hut complaint purposes, but Djamal eventually shared it on Reddit on July 8. In his post, he clarified that, despite the Deliveroo bag, the mishap was due to an Uber Eats delivery.

Accompanying the image of his pizza disaster was the caption: “The delivery guy lifted the pizza box out of the bag, all the slices fell out. He then handed me the now-empty box, still open, and used his hands to transfer the slices from the bag back into the box.”

The Reddit post has stirred up revulsion among users and quickly amassed over 24,000 votes and 790 comments.

While the online backlash couldn’t undo the delivery blunder, Djamal was comforted by the overwhelming support he received. Many agreed that such a delivery was unacceptable, and others concurred that they would have rejected it too.

One response reads: “How they thought this was passable, I can’t fathom.”

Another user commented: “This is way worse than ‘mildly infuriating’.”

And someone suggested: “Call your bank. Dispute the charges. This is theft – you paid for a safe food delivery, and that’s not what you got.”
