A daughter continuously pestered her parents to get a cat. Initially resistant, the parents finally yielded to their daughter’s wish in a heartwarming TikTok video posted on June 29 by @nanciivonne.
The video captures the parents proposing a choice to their daughter using two cards, one hidden option being to adopt a cat, and the other to purchase dog food. The selected card would determine the day’s activity.
The family embarked on a surprise trip to a Phoenix animal shelter, concealing the chosen card from the daughter. Upon arrival, the parents led her with eyes closed to the shelter’s entrance, where she opened her eyes to discover her long-awaited moment – the opportunity to adopt a cat.

The daughter’s joy was palpable as she explored the shelter and interacted with the adorable cats. She tenderly held two kittens, expressing her affection for both the orange and gray felines. Even her dad connected with the gray kitten, the one they eventually adopted.
However, they had to wait roughly four days before bringing the kitten home as it needed to weigh at least 2 pounds before undergoing surgery, which was successful. Subsequently, the new furry family member joined them in their home.
