A brave woman’s quick action to save a puppy from a roadside in Florida during harsh weather has caught the attention of many online.
The TikTok video, shared on August 31, has received over 387,000 views and plenty of praise for Moorlag’s kind rescue efforts, ultimately leading to the puppy finding a loving new home. In the comments, she revealed that the puppy is now named Pete and is doing well.
The video starts with Moorlag driving in Tampa Bay when she spots a troubling sight: a puppy for sale, kept in a crate, with no shade or water under the scorching 97-degree heat.
The overlay on the video said: “When you see a puppy for sale with no shade or water in 97-degree Florida, who needs a Rottweiler puppy?”
Touched by the situation, Moorlag took matters into her own hands. The footage shows her rescuing the puppy, who quickly finds comfort in her car—a stark contrast to the awful conditions he had just faced.
After the rescue, the puppy arrived at Moorlag’s home, where he was safe and relaxed in a much cooler environment.
Moorlag shared her thoughts in the caption: “Well… couldn’t leave this guy out in the Florida heat. He’s safe and cool with me inside. Who’s looking for their new best friend?”
Her post aimed at helping find the puppy a permanent, loving family, and it turned out to be a successful endeavor.
