Typically, when a dog sees its owner pull out a suitcase, it can lead to some anxious moments. They start to worry their human might be leaving them behind for a pet sitter or doggy daycare. However, one particular pup’s adorable reaction has taken TikTok by storm.
Ashley Porcelli’s rescue dog, Brody, doesn’t run and hide at the sight of a suitcase. Instead, he has a much more positive take on it: he knows that means a trip to grandma’s house! And he’s excited to express it!
In a TikTok video shared by @ashleybevporcelli last week, Brody can be seen joyfully dancing around the living room, bursting with enthusiasm. In the caption, Porcelli mentioned that the suitcase was brought out “prematurely,” and now her furry friend wouldn’t leave her side, eagerly anticipating the adventure ahead.
Brody wiggled and hopped around, his tail wagging and a huge grin on his face, clearly ready to jump in the car and go see his favorite human.
Who can blame Brody for being so pumped about a visit to grandma? It’s basically his own little getaway while his parents are away. Spoiling, love, and an endless supply of treats are definitely on the agenda!
Interestingly, Brody has a neurological condition that affects his balance, making his movements a bit wobbly. Porcelli noted, “It’s really cute.” She rescued Brody when he was just three months old, but he developed cerebellar hypoplasia around nine months of age. The American Kennel Club (AKC) describes this condition as a neurological disorder that happens when the cerebellum doesn’t form correctly, impacting balance, coordination, and posture.
Responses from TikTok Users
Brody’s ecstatic display won over the hearts of many on TikTok. By Monday afternoon, the video had racked up over 1.1 million views and 218,200 likes.
One comment from the official H&R Block account dubbed it “the going to grandma’s jig.”
While everyone’s loving the doggy dance, one user humorously pointed out how bittersweet it could be: “The way I would start crying because my feelings would be BIG hurt lol.”
Not every dog is as easygoing at the sight of a suitcase, as another owner chimed in: “I have to hide suitcases from mine because she gets so anxious she makes herself sick and throws up in the house.”
