The Adventures of a Cream Golden Retriever: Rolling in the Grass Like a Goofball

A dog’s playful antics have captured hearts on Instagram, with a video racking up over 2.5 million views and plenty of laughs.

Meet Irma, a golden retriever belonging to Instagram user @rosenberg_annica. Known for her glossy cream coat, Irma’s recent outdoor escapade took a surprising turn. Her owner was left in disbelief when Irma returned looking like a walking patch of grass.

In the viral clip posted on August 17, Irma confidently sits in front of her owner, who needed to assess the damage. From head to toe, Irma was bright green, with her snoot being the only part of her that resembled her usual color, albeit slightly discolored around the nose.

The caption succinctly expressed the owner’s surprise: “No no noooooo.”

While it might have been a headache to see her dog covered in grass, the owner noted that Irma “painted herself with grass and had a blast.” After all, happiness is what matters most for our furry friends.

Cleaning up was no easy feat. One comment indicated it took about three days to return Irma’s coat to its original shine.

Instagram Users Respond

The amusing video went viral, garnering over 123,000 likes and 1,330 comments.

Many users couldn’t help but make comparisons, with one quipping, “Now you have a Grinch retriever.” Another joked, “Sorry, but that’s not a golden retriever, that’s the Grinch!!!” A third chimed in, saying, “Tell me you just cut the grass without telling me you just cut the grass.”

Understanding Dog Fur

It’s no surprise that dogs love to roll around in grass. Fresh-cut grass, in particular, can leave a colorful mark on their fur.

If your dog ends up in a similar situation, know that stains can be stubborn. According to DailyPuppy, a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and cornstarch can help tackle tough stains. Let the paste sit for about 15 minutes, then rinse with warm water after brushing out any debris.
