The inclusion of a foreword by Vice Presidential candidate JD Vance in Kevin Roberts’ upcoming book for Project 2025 has stirred debate online.
Critics from both the Democratic and Republican parties have questioned the involvement of former president Trump, as he denied any knowledge of Project 2025. Opponents have seized on this connection to paint Trump as extreme in a bid to dissuade voter support for him.
The book titled Dawn’s Early Light: Taking Back Washington to Save America by Kevin Roberts gained attention on social media, especially X (formerly Twitter), due to the foreword penned by JD Vance, a senator from Ohio and Trump’s former running mate.
Kyle Tharp, managing director of Courier Newsroom, a liberal media outlet, highlighted the collaboration, stating, “Wow. The architect of Project 2025, Kevin Roberts, has a new book coming out in September about taking over Washington. JD Vance wrote the foreword.” Tharp’s post quickly went viral, garnering over 555,900 views by the afternoon.
Vance also shared his thoughts on Amazon, expressing, “Never before has a figure like Roberts within the American Right attempted to outline a truly fresh future for conservatism… The time has come for us to unite and stand ready for the challenges ahead. These ideas are crucial tools for the battles to come.”
In his new book, Roberts, the president of the Heritage Foundation and the driving force behind Project 2025, presents a vision for a peaceful “Second American Revolution” to empower voters in reclaiming control over their government.
Responding to Tharp’s post, the X account for Republican Voters Against Trump highlighted Vance’s endorsement, contrasting it with the Trump campaign’s denial of involvement with Project 2025.
Public figures like Molly Jong-Fast from Vanity Fair and Ron Filipkowski, editor-in-chief of the liberal news network MeidasTouch, have weighed in on the controversy surrounding the book.
American Bridge 21st Century, a liberal organization, highlighted the connections between JD Vance, Project 2025 leader Kevin Roberts, and the Trump campaign, casting doubt on their claimed lack of association with the initiative.
Exploring the “Second American Revolution”
Roberts recently shared his concept of a “Second American Revolution” through social media.
He emphasized how Americans in 2024 are engaged in a peaceful revolution at the polls to challenge established power structures. Roberts drew parallels between this modern movement and the historic American Revolution, highlighting the need to resist corrupt elites and bureaucratic powers.
Referring to events following George Floyd’s death in 2020, Roberts asserted that patriots across the nation are uniting to preserve existing institutions, redefine others, and dismantle those hindering progress.
Despite facing opposition, Roberts remains optimistic about the success of this “Second American Revolution,” emphasizing its peaceful nature if allowed by detractors.
