Donald Trump was taken aback to discover that Taylor Swift does not share his conservative beliefs, as revealed in a new biography about the former president.
The Apprentice: Mark Burnett and Donald Trump’s Journey Through Wonderland, written by Ramin Setoodeh, co-editor in chief of Variety, is set to be released on 18 June. The book offers insights into Trump’s tenure on the reality TV show The Apprentice.
An excerpt from the book shared by Variety features Trump complimenting Swift’s beauty in an interview conducted in 2023. He expressed surprise at her liberal views and even questioned if they were genuine.
Swift, who transitioned from a country to pop music star, gained even more prominence when she publicly voiced her political opinions in 2018, endorsing Democratic candidates and advocating for human rights and equality.
Swift’s stance on LGBTQ rights, systemic racism, and the importance of fighting for the dignity of all Americans has been clearly communicated through her public endorsements, including those for Vice-President Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden in the 2020 election.
