In a recent incident, Fox News contributor Tomi Lahren expressed disapproval towards vice presidential candidate JD Vance for his critical remarks about Kamala Harris, referring to it as a “bad move” that could potentially harm the Republican Party’s chances in the upcoming election.
Vance, a senator from Ohio, faced backlash for his comments made in 2021, where he targeted Harris and other Democratic figures such as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Pete Buttigieg for not having biological children.
During an interview on SiriusXM with Megyn Kelly, Vance defended his statements by stating that his intention was to criticize the Democratic Party for what he perceived as being “anti-family and anti-child,” rather than targeting individuals who do not have children.
However, Lahren indicated that this explanation might not be sufficient to mitigate the impact of his remarks, especially among women who might be reconsidering their support for a potential Trump-Vance ticket.
On the Fox News show Outnumbered, Lahren commented, “Attacks on [Harris], whether on her personal history or labeling her as ‘childless,’ are ineffective and could lead women to question their allegiance, regardless of their previous support for Donald Trump.”
Lahren emphasized that derogatory remarks towards women, whether conservative or liberal, are not an effective strategy and suggested that there are more appropriate ways to critize Harris.
Despite claims from the Trump campaign and Vance’s spokesperson that his words were taken out of context and distorted, Lahren, along with other conservative women, including Meghan McCain and Corie Whalen, publicly criticized Vance for his insensitivity and cruelty towards women, particularly those who are childless due to personal reasons.
Expressing her concerns about Vance’s candidacy as a potential running mate for Trump, Lahren highlighted on social media her doubts about the wisdom of selecting Vance, warning that his past comments could create obstacles for his candidacy.
