Mary Trump Sounds Alarm on Donald Trump’s Latest Watch Collection

Mary Trump, the estranged niece of former President Donald Trump, is speaking out against her uncle’s latest venture: a collection of limited-edition watches. In a blog post titled “The Non-Fungible Grift,” she accuses him of exploiting his supporters through this merchandise line, which follows his previous collectible Bibles and sneakers.

Trump unveiled his new watch collection on Truth Social, with prices ranging from $499 to $100,000. In his promotion, he promised customers, “These Watches are truly special—You’re going to love them. Would make a great Christmas Gift. Don’t wait, they will go fast.”

Mary Trump highlighted several red flags regarding the watches. Firstly, she referenced the website’s terms, noting that images may not depict the actual product accurately. Furthermore, she pointed out that the watches are currently available only for pre-order, with estimated shipping dates stretching into late 2024. She emphasized the lack of guaranteed delivery, stating, “They cannot guarantee when an order will arrive.”

Mary also raised concerns about the limited warranty, which she found lacking for common damages due to “improper handling” or “normal wear and tear.” More specifically, the warranty only covers certain parts of the watch while other components are entirely excluded.

Additionally, the website clarifies that these watches are for personal enjoyment, not investment. Mary responded, “This suggests that the Tourbillon in particular isn’t worth anywhere near what it’s being sold for.”

Critics have combined forces against the collection, with menswear expert Derek Guy labeling the watches as “crappy.” He argued on social media that their value is artificially inflated due to Donald Trump’s name rather than their actual quality.

In sharp contrast, Trump touted the Tourbillon model as “one of the best watches made,” boasting about its gold and diamond content in his promotional video, a description Mary labeled “slimy.”

Mary concluded her critique by asserting that while there are far worse issues with Donald Trump, leveraging his presidency for profit is particularly egregious. She has consistently criticized him, notably in her 2020 tell-all book, Too Much and Never Enough, where she described him as unfit to lead the country—an opinion he dismissed as “disgraceful.”
