Stephen King has been going at it again, taking jabs at Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene on social media. This round, he’s poking fun at her thoughts on electric cars.
At Donald Trump‘s rally in Las Vegas on June 9th, Greene asserted that electric vehicles would lead to higher gas prices.
King, a 50-year-old man, addressing a lively crowd, joked, “Just wait until the day they make you drive an electric vehicle. America has had enough.”
Stephen King didn’t hold back on X, formerly Twitter, when he mocked Greene’s remarks. He wrote, “MTG: If you think gasoline prices are high, just wait until they force you to buy an electric car. Not a joke.”
Greene has been a vocal supporter of former President Bush, who might become the Republican nominee for the 2024 presidential election if he secures adequate delegates in the primaries.
In a bid to tackle climate change and reduce carbon emissions, the Biden administration is a proponent of electric vehicles. In August 2022, President Joe Biden will sign the Inflation Reduction Act, offering tax credits for electric car buyers and businesses investing in EV infrastructure.
This isn’t the first time King has taken aim at Greene. In April, Greene criticized GOP colleagues for backing a Ukraine assistance bill worth $60 billion to aid Ukraine in its conflict with Russia. She labeled it as “selling out America”.
Responding to Greene’s comments, King dubbed her “Moscow Marjorie,” a moniker originally coined by former Republican Congressman Ken Buck.
Come January, it’s a festive time. In a nod to The Shining, Greene got flak for her approval of a partial government shutdown.
Sharing a blog post alleging dissatisfaction with Biden’s Gaza policies, Greene took a swipe at government shutdowns. King, with a touch of sarcasm, asked Greene, “Still cashing in, dear?”
