Trump Promises Women Will Find Joy and Greatness Under His Leadership

Donald Trump recently declared that women will be “happy and great again” if he wins the upcoming election in November. This statement came from a lengthy post on his social media platform, Truth Social, where he highlighted the challenges women face today.

In his post, Trump argued that women today are poorer, less healthy, and less safe than they were four years ago. He claimed, “WOMEN WILL BE HAPPY, HEALTHY, CONFIDENT AND FREE!” Promising to restore state-level decision-making on abortion—with specific exemptions for rape, incest, and the mother’s life—he also pledged to provide extensive protections for women’s health and safety.

Despite boasting about his role in overturning Roe v. Wade, Trump has shown a more moderate stance on abortion compared to many in his party. Back in April, he opted not to endorse a nationwide abortion ban, stating he believes such decisions should be left to the states. He has also indicated support for exceptions in cases of rape and incest.

During the first presidential debate against Kamala Harris, he sidestepped a question about potentially vetoing a national ban, insisting he wouldn’t need to because it wouldn’t come to that. He also denied that he plans to enact a national abortion ban, asserting that it’s a lie. “I’m not in favor of an abortion ban, but it doesn’t matter because this issue has now been taken over by the states,” he stated.

The abortion debate has become a central focus in this election cycle, particularly after the Supreme Court’s 2022 decision that reshaped abortion rights in the U.S. Following this ruling, numerous states imposed significant restrictions, leading 34% of voters to say abortion will influence their choice at the ballot box, according to a recent exclusive poll by Newsweek.

In the same survey involving 2,500 respondents, 19% indicated they would vote for Trump, while a notable 53% preferred Harris. A September poll by the New York Times/Siena College also found that 54% of likely voters trust Harris over Trump on abortion rights, highlighting that women seem to lean towards Harris, with 50% planning to vote for her, compared to 42% for Trump.
