Will Kamala Harris Keep Georgia? Latest Poll Insights

Recent polls indicate Vice President Kamala Harris is slightly trailing former President Donald Trump in Georgia’s upcoming presidential election. Biden’s narrow victory in 2020 marked a historic win for Democrats in the state, and holding Georgia in this election is crucial for their hopes of maintaining the presidency.

An internal survey from Trump’s campaign, conducted by pollster Tony Fabrizio, suggests he has a 5-point lead with 50% support from likely voters compared to Harris’s 45%. However, other polls present a tighter competition. The Trafalgar Group found Trump ahead by just 1 point, with 46% backing him and 45% for Harris, leaving 9% undecided.

Nonpartisan polls also show a potentially neck-and-neck race. According to Emerson College, both candidates reached 50% support from likely voters, while a Redfield & Wilton Strategies poll reported 47% for each candidate.

As of late Thursday, a FiveThirtyEight poll average gives Trump a slim 0.7-point lead over Harris. This slight advantage has been consistent since early September, particularly following their first debate.

Notably, Georgia has seen a surge in voter registrations, with over 120,000 new voters sign-ups, predominantly from Democrats. This state, along with six others, is considered vital for both parties leading up to the November election.

Trump has a slight edge in many “Sun Belt” battleground states, including Georgia, North Carolina, and Arizona, while Harris shows strength in the “Rust Belt,” holding small leads in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin, according to recent averages.
