A woman achieved what many deemed impossible, leaving her husband in pure disbelief.
A viral video shared on Instagram by Cate Moon (@waitingforababe) captured the heartwarming moment she revealed to her husband that she was pregnant—even against a dramatic 1 percent conception chance.
“POV: You’re infertile, facing a one percent chance of conceiving, and then you surprise your husband with the incredible news that you’re pregnant, leading him to tears,” Moon shared in her video caption. “It was the first time I managed to surprise Collin, and honestly, he was so taken aback; he couldn’t believe it at first!”
After enduring a devastating miscarriage two years prior, Moon began her journey with in vitro fertilization (IVF), which included eight surgeries and 11 IVF cycles. After several heartaches, she welcomed her first son, Callum, in 2021. Thus, discovering that she was pregnant naturally this year truly astonished her.
“I would have believed it more if someone told me the world was ending than when I got that positive test,” she admitted. “It’s all so surreal,” she added, reflecting on the unexpected turn of events.
Finally breaking the news to her husband was a milestone moment for Moon, who stated, “After all the medical hurdles we’ve been through, I just never expected to surprise him like that.” She confessed, “I can’t watch that video without tearing up; it was a moment I always wished for but thought was beyond reach.”
‘Grateful and Overwhelmed’
Moon recounted her husband’s stunned reaction—his first response was a playful, “When?! And with who?!” She later said, “I wish I had captured that part on film. Overall, it was just pure shock, and we’re still grappling with it. It seems hard to believe that getting pregnant can be this simple for some.”
The couple has engaged in deep discussions since the joyful announcement, reflecting on the ease of this pregnancy compared to the arduous IVF procedures. They feel a sense of relief in the absence of mounting medical bills and stress surrounding fertility treatments.
Moon and her husband were prepared to invest around $30,000 for one last IVF cycle to grow their family, making their current situation all the more miraculous. “It’s been an emotional journey, but we feel incredibly blessed with our two beautiful children,” she expressed. “What excites us most is finally having the chance to close the chapter on our long-held dream of having a third child.”
