There’s nothing quite as adorable as a botched proposal.
A TikTok user, Peri (@lemony_sniffit), perfectly exemplified this in a video she shared. The video captured her boyfriend’s repeated attempts to propose as she blissfully twirled and blew bubbles in a field, completely oblivious to his actions. Since its posting on July 16, the video has amassed 3.6 million views and over 860,000 likes.
“When he’s trying to propose but you’re just a girl blowing bubbles in a field,” Peri captioned the video, showcasing her spinning and bubble-blowing antics while her boyfriend persistently vied for her attention.
The comedic timing of the video led some viewers to speculate if it was staged, but Peri assured everyone that it was an impromptu moment. “I promise you this was definitely not what either of us expected the moment to be like,” she wrote. “But regardless, it was perfect and silly, and we are very happy.”
Comments flooded in, with many finding the boyfriend’s persistent efforts endearing, as he kept trying to capture Peri’s attention instead of following the traditional proposal script.

Following requests for the actual proposal footage, missing from the initial video, Peri later shared an update revealing that her boyfriend, now fiancé, eventually succeeded in getting her attention.
The subsequent video captured the moment when Peri, stunned and still, turned around to find her fiancé on one knee holding a ring box. After a brief moment of shock, she accepted his proposal, and he placed the ring on her finger.
“I just needed a [little] time to process what even happened,” Peri explained. “We feel very blessed, [thank you] for all the love and kindness shared.”
