No one enjoys receiving the infamous “hey girl” text, typically a warning that their partner may be unfaithful—often from the person involved. Content creator Jolynne Keshishian captured the internet’s attention when she revealed that her long-term boyfriend received such a prank message, mimicking a cheating confession. Her TikTok video, which has amassed over 2.6 million views, explains how a joke from a stranger nearly threatened their relationship.
On September 16, Keshishian, known as @jolllyyynnnneeee on TikTok, shared, “My boyfriend got sent a ‘hey girly’ text” after one of her popular videos went viral. The prankster claimed to have kissed her during an Ice Spice concert in 2023, stating in a detailed message: “Hey, I don’t know how to say this, but I made out with a redhead girl at an Ice Spice concert, and I know it was her. I saw she’s got a boyfriend.”
Keshishian confirmed she did attend the concert—but with her boyfriend by her side. When he received the message, he responded calmly, asserting that she never left him throughout the event. The prankster eventually confessed, stating, “I was lying,” adding a cryptic comment about shared misery.
This incident sparked discussions on the internet regarding the potential harm of such pranks on relationships. Despite their viral presence, Keshishian and her boyfriend, who’ve been together since high school, had never encountered this kind of situation before. Viewers expressed their appreciation for her boyfriend’s level-headed response, with one comment saying, “Thank goodness your boyfriend is a good one. That prank could have been very dangerous.”
Keshishian found some humor in the situation but emphasized the serious implications these pranks can carry. “I think it’s funny in the sense of absurdity, but I want to stress that these types of jokes can be harmful,” she noted, ensuring her video doesn’t promote such behavior.
Ultimately, Keshishian and her boyfriend have come through unscathed, continuing to strengthen their bond amidst the online chaos.
