A deeply touching video has captured the plight of two bewildered beagles, Mia and Fraser, who were brought to the West Norfolk RSPCA shelter in the U.K. after their owner fell seriously ill.
Three-year-old Mia and four-year-old Fraser are now adjusting to their new environment, which is quite different from their previous home. In a heartfelt TikTok video, the shelter depicted the dogs’ confusion with the caption: “POV: Your beloved owner gets ill, leaving you in a noisy, unfamiliar kennel without any idea of what went wrong.”
The shelter is eager to find a new family for Mia and Fraser, ideally together, as they have a tight bond. However, they are having a tough time adjusting to shelter life, particularly Mia, who thrives on human companionship. According to the shelter, “Mia is really struggling with kennel life as she adores people and wants company for the majority of the day.” Meanwhile, Fraser is the more carefree of the duo, happily accepting treats from anyone.
The TikTok post has received an outpouring of support from viewers, with one user, Billie, expressing sympathy for the dogs and their previous owner. Another commenter, Georgina, shared her own experience, stating, “We adopted seniors, and they were incredibly rewarding—even though we didn’t have them for long.” Many have echoed the sentiment, wishing the beagles a quick and loving new home.
Both dogs enjoy their walks and would flourish in a lively household with access to nature; however, they might need to shed a few pounds, as is often the case with beagles. The shelter is committed to keeping Mia and Fraser together, noting, “They absolutely adore each other, so splitting them up is something we really don’t want to happen.”
