World No. 38 golfer Bryson DeChambeau has secured his second major title at the 124th U.S. Open held at Pinehurst No.2 in Pinehurst, North Carolina. Remarkably, both of DeChambeau’s major victories have come at the U.S. Open.
DeChambeau faced stiff competition from world No. 3 golfer Rory McIlroy in a thrilling finale to clinch the second major championship of his career. In the final round, DeChambeau shot an even-par 71 and barely managed to maintain his three-shot lead.
McIlroy had a shot at the title but a crucial mistake cost him the victory and handed it to DeChambeau. McIlroy leaves Pinehurst with another near-miss and will have to wait longer to end his 10-year major title drought.
