Jon Rahm, the 2021 US Open champion, has unfortunately had to withdraw from this year’s tournament due to a foot infection.
Rahm announced his withdrawal on X Page, citing advice from his medical team that it would be in his best interest to skip the US Open to focus on healing.
In consultation with my medical team and numerous doctors, I decided to withdraw this week from the US Open Championship. This is in my best interest for long-term health. It would be an understatement to say that I am disappointed! I wish all my peers the best of luck and want to thank all of the USGA…

Rahm, who had landed his second Major title in 2023, aggravated his injury during the LIV Golf Tournament last week, ultimately leading to his withdrawal from the upcoming US Open.
Despite his absence, Rahm remains a formidable force in golf, currently holding a high rank in the Official World Golf Ranking.
Reflecting on his previous victories, Rahm clinched his first Major title at the U.S. Open in 2021 and followed it up with a Masters win at Augusta National. Unfortunately, his current health setback prevents him from striving for a third triumph.
Rahm revealed that he has an infected lesion between his fourth and pinky toes, compelling him to prioritize healing.
Jon Rahm is clearly injured. He had his foot worked just before the tee off and is now clearly in pain. It makes you wonder how long the man has dealt with this. pic.twitter.com/We8FZCRdv0

When is the 2024 U.S. Open?
The 124th U.S. Open is scheduled to run from June 13 to June 16 at Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina.
Scottie Scheffler is currently favored to win the tournament, having recently secured victory at the Masters. Rahm’s withdrawal has shifted the odds, with Xander Schafele and other top players now in contention for the title.
