Ryan Smith announced, “Utah is making history today. We’ve secured a new NHL team.” Collaborating with the NHL has been amazing, and the journey has just begun. Training camp in less than 100 days, and we’re pumped!”
Associated Press hints at unveiling the team’s image soon. The team’s logo and name will soon grace the uniforms, adding to the team’s vibe.

Salt Lake City fans eagerly await the new branding, reminiscent of NBA’s New Orleans Jazz, MLS’s Real Salt Lake, and WNBA’s Utah Starzz.
Fans can vote for one of six names: Outlaws, Mammoth, Blizzard, Yeti, Venom, Utah HC (Hockey Club). Over 520,000 fans have taken part in the poll, with six top names accounting for 60% of all votes.
The winning name will be unveiled in the 2025-2026 NHL season.
