All Elite Wrestling (AEW) is riding high with exciting matches and a substantial $170 million deal with Warner Bros. Discovery, solidifying its status as a formidable rival to WWE as AEW programs begin streaming on Max.
However, the recent momentum took a hit due to injuries involving two AEW talents.
During a Ring of Honor (ROH) taping at the Petersen Events Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, both Sammy Guevara and Kelly Madan faced serious injuries following their matches. Reports indicate Guevara suffered a concussion when Serpentico accidentally landed on his head, forcing immediate medical attention and a stretcher exit from the ring.
PWInsider‘s Mike Johnson confirmed the incident, while Wrestling Observer journalist Dave Meltzer later speculated a concussion, though it remains unconfirmed.
Despite the initial concerns, PWTorch’s Wade Keller shared that Guevara was seen moving around backstage after receiving treatment, easing worries among fans and colleagues.
In another incident, Lady Frost faced a similar fate after an intense match against Kelly Madan, where Madan was knocked unconscious and also required a stretcher. According to wrestling reporter John Clark, the situation appeared serious, highlighting the dangers in the ring.
As of now, AEW has not released further updates on the conditions of Guevara or Madan. Guevara, a strong presence in AEW since its inception in 2019, is known for his multiple title reigns and significant matches with wrestling legends like Chris Jericho and Sting.
