Breaking records has become the norm for the Fever guard this season, as she eclipsed Seimone Augustus’s record for most rookie points, finishing with an impressive 35-point game.

Augustus, who was the first overall pick in the 2006 WNBA Draft, previously held the record with 744 rookie points and was also awarded Rookie of the Year honors.

Clark officially broke the record with a deep three-pointer in the third quarter, propelling her total points to 761 with one game left in the regular season.

Her standout stats from the night included 35 points, eight assists, and three steals, shooting 6 for 14 from beyond the arc.

The Fever’s home game drew a massive crowd, with fans packed into Gainbridge Fieldhouse, despite the Indianapolis Colts also being in town.

“I’m really grateful,” Caitlin said in a postgame interview with WTHR. “Our supporters are loud and fully engaged, which is amazing for the league and for every team playing here. We’ve had a lot of thrilling matches, and their energy has helped us win so many games.” She expressed hopes of bringing playoff basketball back to Indiana, “It’s been too long since 2016, and things are only going to get better.”

As the frontrunner for Rookie of the Year, Clark’s impact on the WNBA has been remarkable, drawing significant attention to the league.

With their playoff berth secured for the first time since 2016, the Fever clinched the No. 6 seed. Earlier in the season, doubts lingered about their playoff chances, but they’ve turned into one of the league’s strongest teams.

Indiana will wrap up the regular season against Washington on Thursday, and fans are excited to see how far the team can go in the playoffs.

One thing is clear: Caitlin Clark is on fire this season.
