In a recent twist of events, NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders extended an olive branch to CBS reporter Eric Christensen after a prior snub, signaling a ceasefire in their ongoing feud. This warm gesture came during the University of Colorado’s weekly press conference on Friday.
During the conference, Sanders called out for the CBS reporter, stating, “Is the guy here from CBS? I want everybody to know that we was good then, but they made it seem like we wasn’t good. We’re good. I love him, and I appreciate him, and tell him I’ll do a one-on-one sit down with him. We’ve been good, but we’re really good now.”
This unexpected declaration indicated a willingness to move past the tension that flared up the week before when Sanders had dismissed CBS entirely at a press conference. “I’m not doing nothing with CBS. Next question,” he remarked while waving his hand dismissively. His discontent with the network seemed fueled by a recent ranking by CBS Sports, which rated him as the second-worst coach in the Big 12, citing reasons like six consecutive losses and weaknesses in the offensive line.
On top of that, CBS Sports’ Dennis Dodd noted that Sanders’ second year at Colorado will be a significant test of his coaching skills, suggesting the upcoming season would present a challenging uphill battle for the Hall of Famer known for his larger-than-life persona.
As he embarks on this new season at the helm of Colorado’s program, all eyes will be on Sanders to see if he can turn things around and prove his critics wrong.
