A.J. Brown, the Philadelphia Eagles’ standout wide receiver, appeared on the injury report last Friday ahead of their Week 2 Monday Night Football clash with the Atlanta Falcons. He’s nursing a hamstring issue and had a limited practice session.
Brown shone in Week 1, hauling in five catches for 119 yards and a touchdown, including a thrilling 67-yard touchdown reception early in the third quarter during the Eagles’ 34-29 victory over the Green Bay Packers.
Since being traded from the Tennessee Titans to the Eagles for a first-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, Brown has solidified his place as one of the top receivers in the league.
In 2022, he recorded 88 catches for 1,496 yards and 11 touchdowns, earning him a Pro Bowl nod and a spot on the All-Pro Second Team. Last season, he set a career high with 106 receptions, totaling 1,456 yards and seven touchdowns, and repeated his Pro Bowl and All-Pro honors.

Brown’s rise has gone hand-in-hand with the success of fellow receiver DeVonta Smith, who has also been impressive, logging two consecutive 1,000-yard seasons. In 2022, Smith caught 95 passes for 1,196 yards and seven touchdowns, followed by 81 receptions for 1,066 yards and seven touchdowns last year.
In his recent outing, Smith posted a solid performance with seven catches for 84 yards.
Fantasy Football Impact of A.J. Brown Injury
If Brown misses the game, Smith would see a significant bump in his fantasy value. In Week 1, Brown was targeted 10 times, compared to Smith’s eight, so Smith would likely benefit from increased targets if Brown is sidelined.
Furthermore, both running back Saquon Barkley and tight end Dallas Goedert could see their fantasy stock rise, and Jahan Dotson could be worth adding as a sneaky bench option, especially since he only managed one target in Week 1.
At this moment, there’s no indication that Brown will sit out Monday night. However, since the game is on the night, precautions are advisable — just ask Christian McCaffrey’s fantasy owners, who learned a tough lesson last week.
Consider adding Dotson to your bench if you lack other players available for Monday night — it could be a smart move.
