The WWE landscape is brimming with main event talent, featuring stars like Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, Rhea Ripley, and Gunther. Yet, to keep the excitement alive, new contenders need opportunities to rise through the ranks.
Among the potential new main event superstars are talents such as Carmelo Hayes, Jey Uso, Bron Breakker, and Tiffany Stratton. Recently, a well-known champion shared her thoughts on who might be ready to step into the spotlight.
Four-time WWE Women’s Champion Bayley took to social media after an impressive match between Chad Gable and World Heavyweight Champion Gunther. She expressed her excitement for Gable’s future, saying, “Watching Gunther vs. Chad Gable tonight made me really excited to inevitably see [Gable] as World Heavyweight Champion someday,” Bayley noted on X. “Such a special performer! But until then… What a match!”
Before facing Gunther, Gable secured a victory over former WWE Champion Kofi Kingston. If he keeps up this momentum, he could be on a fast track to main event status.
Gable’s journey to WWE began with a solid foundation in amateur wrestling, which included representing the U.S. in the 2012 Summer Olympics. He signed with WWE in 2013 and debuted on NXT in 2015 as part of the tag team American Alpha alongside Jason Jordan.
After their debut on SmackDown during the 2016 NBA Draft, Gable transitioned into singles competition for a while. He dabbled briefly in various tag teams, including stints with Shelton Benjamin and Robert Roode.
In 2019, Gable was rebranded as Shorty G, a gimmick that didn’t win the audience over. However, his popularity surged when he created the Alpha Academy with Otis, later adding Akira Tozawa and Maxxine Dupri to the mix, forming a fan-favorite stable.
Currently, Gable has transitioned to a new team called American Made with Brutus Creed, Julius Creed, and Ivy Nile. Despite being a four-time tag champion with teams like Jordan and Otis, Gable has yet to capture singles gold—an opportunity fans hope he will soon fulfill.
