However, the Longhorns had other plans, storming into the home of the defending national champions with intentions to dominate. It seemed like “The Big House” had transformed into the phrase, “Everything’s bigger in Texas.”
As the Wolverines faced a tough defeat at home, a few former NFL players chimed in on social media. Former Ohio State receiver Garrett Wilson didn’t hold back, showing his disdain for Michigan as a direct competitor, stating simply, “Michigan ass 😂😂😂😂.”
Meanwhile, former Texas running back Bijan Robinson expressed his pride in his team’s performance, commenting, “We’re witnessing a team that is the future of college football 🤘🏽 . They ran out of gas before it started. 😁🤷🏽♂️”

Most fans were surprised by Texas’s ability to overpower the Wolverines, especially on their turf. Michigan appears to be a shadow of last year’s powerhouse squad, which had reached the College Football Playoff.
On the flip side, Texas looks poised to make a significant impact this season, shaking off the disappointment from last year. The Longhorns took command early, leading 31-6 by late in the third quarter. Michigan’s defense struggled from the start, unable to contain Texas’s offense.
Last week, Michigan had looked shaky against Fresno State, but many dismissed it as first-game jitters. With Jim Harbaugh now back in the NFL, a turnaround is crucial. The Wolverines will face Arkansas State next weekend, followed by a showdown with the up-and-coming USC Trojans in their first Big Ten matchup of the season.
