The WWE Hall of Fame boasts over two hundred inductees, yet many fans feel there are still deserving wrestlers left out. While icons like Andre the Giant and Paul Heyman stand tall among the honored, names like Koko B. Ware and Drew Carey leave some scratching their heads.
One name frequently mentioned in discussions about potential inductees is Brian Pillman. Recently, his son, Lexis King (formerly known as Brian Pillman Jr.), took to social media to advocate for his father’s inclusion in the Hall of Fame.
In a heartfelt message, Lexis shared, “Just speaking as Pillman Jr. here for a moment. My goal from day one in wrestling has always been to bring enough attention to the Pillman name so that he could take his rightful spot in the Hall of Fame.”
Brian Pillman, originally an NFL player, made his wrestling debut with Stampede Wrestling. He rose to fame in WCW as Flyin’ Bryan Pillman, showcasing his high-flying style and memorable rivalries with stars like Barry Windham and Jushin “Thunder” Liger.
As part of the Hollywood Blonds with “Stunning” Steve Austin, Pillman engaged in notable feuds against The Four Horsemen, but his legacy truly surged with his “Loose Cannon” persona. This unpredictable character left a mark on wrestling culture and even led to a controversial segment in WWF where he pulled a gun on Austin, a moment deemed pivotal in launching the Attitude Era.
Sadly, Pillman passed away at just 35 years old in 1997, leaving behind a profound legacy. His impact on wrestling is enduring, particularly in the blending of reality and storyline, making a Hall of Fame induction all the more deserved.
