‘Jeopardy!’ Viewers Shocked as Contestants Flub ‘Simple’ Final Question

On the recent episode of Jeopardy! that aired on Monday, October 7, fans were left in disbelief when none of the contestants managed to correctly answer the “Final Jeopardy” question.

The contestants for the evening, Mark Fitzpatrick, Amanda Prusila, and Daniel Gately, had what seemed like a typical game until the final round. Fitzpatrick led with $23,000, followed by Gately at $4,200, and Prusila with a mere $600 when the final clue was presented.

The clue came from the category “Brand Names” and was revealed by host Ken Jennings: “In 1886 this brand’s bookkeeper came up with its name & flowing script logo, saying, ‘The two Cs would look well in advertising.’

In “Final Jeopardy,” contestants can wager part of their earnings for a chance to win even more. Unfortunately, both Prusila and Fitzpatrick answered “Coco Chanel,” while Gately went with “Currier.”

The correct answer? None other than Coca-Cola.

Viewers were quick to express their disbelief, with many taking to social media to vent their frustrations. One fan tweeted, “Me screaming Coca Cola & smh that they all blew it…🥴 #Jeopardy,” while another claimed, “I knew today’s Final Jeopardy answer and all 3 contestants didn’t. Today is a good day.”

One user lamented, “Now how did me & my mom say the right answer but none of them didn’t??” and another bluntly stated, “Cannot believe that all three contestants missed such an obvious Final Jeopardy question: What is Coca Cola?”

In terms of wagering, both Gately and Prusila opted out with zero bets, whereas Fitzpatrick risked $3,400 of his total.
