Former President Donald Trump has accused Vice President Kamala Harris of antisemitism during a speech at The Believers’ Summit in Palm Beach, Florida. He claimed that Harris “doesn’t like Jewish people” because she reportedly refused to attend Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech in Congress, citing her supposed bias against Israel.
Harris, who is married to a Jewish man, skipped Netanyahu’s speech due to prior travel arrangements in Indiana but met with the Prime Minister privately afterwards to address concerns about the situation in Gaza.
Trump reiterated his accusations of Harris’s antisemitism in another speech in North Carolina, claiming she is “totally against the Jewish people.” Additionally, in a Truth Social post, he criticized her handling of the situation, insinuating it could prolong the war and impact hostage release negotiations.
During Netanyahu’s visit to the U.S., Harris emphasized the need for peace and ceasefire amid escalating tensions. Despite Biden’s support for Israel, some Democrats have expressed concerns over the Palestinian death toll and military aid to Israel.
Protests erupted during Netanyahu’s visit, resulting in vandalism and anti-Semitic rhetoric. Harris condemned these actions, stating that hate and violence have no place in the nation. Netanyahu reaffirmed Israel’s alliance with the U.S., irrespective of the presidential election outcome.
