Former President Donald Trump proudly announced that his campaign raised $139 million in July, highlighting what he describes as “spectacular support” from his voter base as the November elections approach.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump emphasized the strength of the “MAGA Movement,” stating that the donations pushed his campaign’s total cash to an impressive “327 million” dollars as they enter August.
Expressing gratitude, Trump stated, “Spectacular support from Great American Patriots who are donating to our Campaign for President of the United States, and helping out in many other ways. Much work to be done, but I will always keep fighting for YOU. Our Country is failing, but we will turn it around, quickly, and MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
However, Trump’s July fundraising fell short compared to Vice President Kamala Harris, who reported an astounding $200 million in her first week as a candidate, with 66% coming from first-time donors in the 2024 election cycle.
CNN political commentator Van Jones commented on Harris’s impressive fundraising during an appearance on The Situation Room, calling it “Kamala-mania.” He noted, “Just energy, energy, energy. People are excited about Kamala Harris. It shows up in the numbers, it shows up in the polls.”
The Associated Press reported that Trump’s team raised a total of $331 million from April to June, so the $139 million from July was a positive indicator heading into the election season.
In addition to fundraising, Trump has been actively campaigning. He faced a life-threatening situation when an assassination attempt occurred at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13, just ahead of receiving the official Republican nomination. He returned to Pennsylvania this Wednesday, addressing the assassination attempt and honoring firefighter Corey Comperatore, who tragically lost his life during the incident.
Some attendees at the rally reported that several people left the venue about an hour into Trump’s speech.
