Former President Donald Trump drew ridicule for his focus on Vice President Kamala Harris’ crowd size at her first rally during his own campaign event in North Carolina.
Harris, who announced her presidential bid recently, held her debut rally near Milwaukee, reportedly attracting over 3,000 supporters. Her message revolved around a campaign “focused on the future,” contrasting Trump’s perceived emphasis on the past.
During his Charlotte event, Trump mocked Harris’ rally, comparing crowd sizes and claiming his rallies drew up to “70,000” attendees while suggesting Harris worked hard to attract a crowd. He also lamented the lack of coverage by the “fake news media” on his rally sizes.
Trump remarked that if Harris had a crowd of 2,000, headlines would declare his downfall. Videos of Trump’s comments circulated on social media, drawing mocking responses, including a tweet by prominent critic Ed Krassenstein, who described Trump as a “man-baby” in a breakdown over crowd size comparisons.
Another user, Denison Barb, commented on the lack of substantive issues discussed during Trump’s event, emphasizing his tendency to resort to insults rather than addressing important matters.
