John Fetterman, 54 years old, was involved in a crash where his Chevrolet Traverse rear-ended a Chevrolet Impala near the Maryland/West Virginia state border. Fetterman, his wife Gisele, and another woman from the Impala were taken to the hospital, examined, and later discharged on a Sunday morning just before 8 o’clock.
A witness reported that Fetterman was driving at high speeds, passing vehicles significantly above the speed limit before rear-ending the Impala just before an exit.
“Vehicle 1 (Fetterman’s) overtook her at high speed. This was well above the speed limit posted at that time. Shortly after, Vehicle 1 rear-ended Vehicle 2 just prior to Exit 1 for I-68,” the police report stated.
The police report confirmed that impaired driving or road defects were not contributing factors to the crash. Both vehicles were towed due to significant damages, with no Maryland State property damage reported.
All parties involved received minor injuries and were treated at War Memorial Hospital in West Virginia. Fetterman sustained a bruised shoulder and was discharged the next day.
In a social media post, Fetterman and his wife acknowledged the incident, referring to it as “the worst anniversary of all time.”
Fetterman also shared that despite taking painkillers, he felt fine after the crash.
No citations were issued as a result of the crash.
