Mary Trump Calls Out ‘Top-Level Hypocrisy’ in Trump’s Response to Harris Interview

Mary Trump, the former president’s niece, has called Donald Trump a “world-class hypocrite” after he demanded CBS lose its broadcasting license over what he described as a misleading edit of Kamala Harris’s 60 Minutes interview.

In a recent blog post, Mary claimed that her uncle’s own interviews have undergone edits aimed at enhancing his image, referencing a June article from The New Republic that suggested Fox News altered a Trump interview to make him appear more sane.

The upcoming presidential election sees Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris in a close race, with FiveThirtyEight reporting a 53% chance of victory for Harris, compared to Trump’s 47%. Mary Trump, who has publicly criticized her uncle, previously labeled him a “fascist” and “born autocrat.” She authored the book Too Much and Never Enough in 2020, focusing on her family’s legacy.

On Monday, CBS aired an extended interview with Harris. Trump chose not to participate in a similar interview after discovering his statements would be fact-checked, a move his campaign labeled “unprecedented.”

Following the broadcast, conservatives circulated clips that highlighted differences between the preview of Harris’s interview and the final edit, alleging that her response regarding Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu was manipulated for her advantage. Harris’s team clarified that they did not influence the edits, which are typical for broadcast due to time limitations.

Criticizing CBS on Truth Social, Trump labeled the editing scandal “the Single Biggest scandal in Broadcast History” and insisted CBS should lose its license, arguing that the same should apply to all broadcast networks due to alleged corruption.

Mary Trump responded in her blog, stating, “Donald is a world-class hypocrite,” and reiterated that Harris does not require edits to present herself effectively. She emphasized, “I’ve seen enough of Vice President Harris’s interviews to know that, unlike Donald, she doesn’t need any help.”

In a previous post from October 6, Mary also warned that if her uncle wins, his focus will solely be on “grifting and revenge.”

Meanwhile, Trump received an endorsement from Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker, who praised him as “the most pro-life president,” highlighting the importance of advocating for vulnerable populations and the unborn.
