Renowned Houston businessman Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale has been hospitalized due to some cognitive concerns. The 73-year-old shared a video from his hospital bed on Saturday night, reassuring fans that he’s on the mend.

In the video, McIngvale mentioned he’s facing “a little trouble with cognitive things,” but emphasized his faith in the excellent medical care at Texas Medical Center: “I’m sure I’ll be all right.”

McIngvale is highly regarded in the Houston community not just for his business acumen, but for his generous spirit. Many took to social media to wish him a swift recovery, recalling his kindness during the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey in 2017 when he opened his store to help those in need.

In a bid to lift his spirits, he promoted a massive Labor Day sale at his store, Gallery Furniture, dubbing it the “best way” for fans to support him. “Biggest sale ever! Labor Day Super Sale—buy that Tempur-Pedic and sleep great tonight!” he urged.

He humorously added, “Hopefully, I’ll get out of here pretty soon because I gotta go sleep on that Tempur-Pedic. God bless you all!”
