The National Rifle Association, or NRA, shared their views on Tuesday about the federal gun case involving Hunter Biden.
A Delaware jury found Hunter Biden’s son, Joe Biden Jr., guilty on two felony charges of gun possession. The prosecution alleged that he lied about his drug use when buying a gun in 2018. Under Section 922 (g)(3), it’s illegal for someone “unlawful” or addicted to a controlled substance to own a firearm.
At 54, Hunter Biden has pleaded not guilty, asserting his innocence. If found guilty on the first count, he could face up to 10 years in prison; for the second or third count, a possible ten-year sentence. The sentencing date is still pending.
After a brief three-hour deliberation, the verdict was delivered against President Biden’s son. Just over two months ago, the former president Donald Trump was convicted of hush money charges in New York. He is expected to be the primary rival for President Biden in the upcoming November presidential elections. Trump, too, maintains his innocence and plans to appeal the decision.
Karoline Levitt, Trump’s national press secretary, issued a written response to Hunter Biden’s guilty jury verdict. “This trial was merely a distraction from the actual crimes committed by the Biden Family Crime, which has raked in tens of millions of dollars in China, Russia, and Ukraine. The corrupt Biden family empire will face its comeuppance on November 5. Biden will no longer be able to exploit government access for personal gain.”
