The popular game, Wordle, has gained immense success. It’s like The New York Times version of the game, known as Connections. The game is slated for release in English-speaking countries by June 2023.
What is ‘Connections’?
In this game, players must categorize 16 words into four groups based on their similarities. Each player picks four words; if they form a link falling into a category, the letter lights up, and the word is removed from the board.
Different colors indicate the difficulty of each category, with yellow being the easiest, and green, purple, and blue being the most challenging. When you link words correctly, their colors reveal the quiz creators’ perceived difficulty level.
Players have no time limit but can only make four mistakes before losing. They can also rearrange the 16 words on the board randomly.
It’s possible for a word to appear in multiple categories, but there is always a single correct answer.
Noted editor Wyna Liu suggests switching categories when five cards are in the same group to eliminate some words, making it easier to progress.
