Product recalls, overseen by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), happen pretty often. Some flagged products can linger on recall lists for quite some time.
Recalls are a way to fix or remove potentially harmful products. They may be initiated by the FDA or at the company’s own volition.
Recent recalls include single-serving penne pasta from Weis Markets and asiago sauce from Carolina Gold, along with honey sauce from Piggie Park Enterprises Inc., dating back to 2018. The penne pasta had an undeclared dairy allergen, while the honey sauce contained unlisted soy and wheat, posing severe health risks.
