According to eyewitness accounts, the incident occurred around 10:20 a.m. on Saturday near Troutdale Airport, where the plane was en route.
The deceased include the pilot, a passenger, and a resident of one of the impacted townhouses. Local news footage captured the intense aftermath, showcasing homes engulfed in flames as firefighters worked to control the blaze.
Frederick Gilbert, a nearby resident, described hearing the plane’s engine before witnessing a sudden explosion. “There was an instant fireball. I felt it slam against the side of the building,” he recounted.
The crash also resulted in power outages affecting thousands due to downed power lines caused when the aircraft struck a utility pole. At least five families have been displaced as a result of the destruction.
