This week, Kamala Harris’ campaign team made a noticeable dig at Donald Trump for not engaging with key battleground states. They shared a snapshot of her busy rally schedule in states like Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, North Carolina, Arizona, and Nevada. In contrast, they highlighted Trump’s upcoming rally, which will be held in Montana this Friday, captioning it with a cheeky “Low energy.”
While Trump has previously campaigned extensively in swing states—visiting many multiple times—he seems to be taking a quieter approach currently. Just this June, he held events in Arizona, Nevada, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania, demonstrating his commitment to these crucial regions.
On the flip side, Trump’s running mate, JD Vance, is actively hitting the campaign trail. Recently, he has leveled sharp criticisms against Tim Walz, Harris’ newly announced running mate. In a speech in Philadelphia, Vance labeled Walz a “far-left radical,” suggesting that his policies are detrimental, even going as far as to say they could harm domestic job opportunities.
Vance didn’t stop there; he also targeted Walz’s handle on the 2020 George Floyd protests and his support for a policy that limits Minnesota’s ability to enforce out-of-state custody orders related to gender-affirming care for minors.
While addressing the crowd at the 2300 Arena in South Philadelphia, Vance outright dismissed Walz’s political history as a “joke” and criticized him for not serving in Iraq, a comment that has drawn backlash from military veterans who view it as disrespectful and unprofessional. For context, Walz served 24 years in the National Guard and was set to lead a battalion before deciding to retire to pursue a congressional career.
